Artist Calls

 Main Gallery Artist Calls

HRAC is accepting proposals for gallery exhibits in our main gallery for the 2022 calendar year. Exhibits typically run for four to six weeks with an opening reception on the first Friday.

Artists, collaborators, and curators interested in exhibiting at Hammond Regional Arts Center should email a detailed proposal outlining their intended project to info@hammondarts.org with the subject line "Exhibition Proposal." Proposals must include a CV or resume, artist statement, and a brief bio for all artists and curators participating in the proposed exhibit. Proposals must be accompanied by 20 digital images, 5 of which must be works to be included in the exhibit or representative of works in progress. Be sure to include your contact information as well as the title, medium, year, dimensions and value for the images you submit. Image files should be in .jpeg format with the title of work as the file name. Download our exhibition agreement to see the full terms and conditions.

Artists submitting proposals are responsible for getting their work to and from the Arts Center.

 Mezzanine Gallery Artist Calls

The Hammond Regional Arts Center (HRAC) expanded exhibition opportunities with the introduction of the Mezzanine Gallery in 2019. The Mezzanine Gallery serves as an exhibition space for emerging artists.

Eligibility
The Hammond Regional Arts Center invites passionate artists aged 18+ to apply to showcase their work in the Mezzanine Gallery space.

Submission
If interested, artists must submit a proposal which should include an artist bio or resume, an artist statement, artists contact information and a minimum of 5 images of work (in PDF format). Include the title, medium, year, dimensions and value for the submitted images. This proposal should be emailed to info@hammondarts.org with the subject line: "Mezzanine Gallery Submission." Once submitted, artist proposals will be reviewed by the Hammond Regional Art Center’s Gallery Committee.

Deadlines/Important Dates
Typically, July 1st is the deadline to submit a proposal for the following calendar year.  The Review Committee may extend that deadline. Email us or follow our social media to find out more. Once a decision has been made, selected artists will be notified by the Hammond Regional Arts Center Staff.  That staff member will coordinate exhibition dates, installation and take-down details with the artist.  The artist is solely responsible for complying with the agreed upon arrangements.
