HRAC Artist Calls

HRAC is accepting proposals for gallery exhibits in our main gallery for the 2020-2021 calendar year. Exhibits typically run for one month with an opening reception on the first Friday of the month and close on the last Friday of the month. 

Artists, collaborators, and curators interested in exhibiting at Hammond Regional Arts Center should email a detailed proposal outlining their intended project to Proposals must include a CV or resume, artist statement, and a brief bio for all artists and curators participating in the proposed exhibit. Proposals must be accompanied by 20 digital images, 5 of which must be works to be included in the exhibit or representative of works in progress. Be sure to include your contact information as well as the title, medium, year, dimensions and value for the images you submit. Image files should be in .jpeg format with the title of work as the file name. Download our exhibition agreement to see the full terms and conditions.

Artists submitting proposals are responsible for getting their work to and from the Arts Center as well as hanging and taking down their own shows.


Fine & Functional

The call for submissions to the 15th annual Fine & Functional exhibition is now open. Fine & Functional is open to artists 18 years and older, original 2D work in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, graphic, mixed media, sculpture, ceramic, pottery, woodwork and jewelry. Fine & Functional November 15-December 20, 2019

Works Eligible- open to artists 18 years and older, original 2D work in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, graphic, mixed media, sculpture, ceramic, pottery, woodwork and jewelry. All 2D, framed work must be ready to hang and not exceed 44” maximum including frame and must not exceed 30 pounds. 

Drop off of artwork may begin on November 1, 2019 and must conclude by November 13, 2019. Artwork must include inventory list, attached labels with prices and signed contract. If approved by curator, Jerry Hymel, additional inventory may be added if needed during the run on the exhibition. All remaining inventory of artwork must be picked up by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20.

Opening Reception, Friday November 15, 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Holiday Tea, Sunday, December 8, 2019, 12:30-2:30 and 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Holiday Open House/Nutcracker, Saturday, December 14, 5:00-7:00 p.m.


Mezzanine Gallery Artist Calls

The Hammond Regional Arts Center (HRAC) is expanding their connection to the visual arts community with the introduction of the Mezzanine Gallery. The Mezzanine Gallery will serve as an exhibition space for budding artists who are seeking ways to launch a professional career within the art world.


The Hammond Regional Arts Center invites passionate artists aged 18+ to apply to showcase their work in the Mezzanine Gallery space. Interested artists must be members of the Hammond Regional Arts Center.


If interested, artists must fill out a formal proposal with a minimum of 5 images of work (in PDF format), along with an artist statement. All of which should be emailed to the Mezzanine Gallery Coordinator Kacie Sanders at Once submitted, artist portfolios/proposals will be reviewed by the Hammond Regional Art Center’s Gallery Committee.

Deadlines/Important Dates

Deadlines for submissions are the 15th of each month. The Gallery Committee meets on the 3rd week of the month. Once a decision has been made, selected artists will then be notified by the Mezzanine Gallery Coordinator by the last day of that month.
